THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRAYER, FAITH, AND THE WORD OF GOD

Hello Blog Bestie, How is your day going? How was the week in general? Did you enjoy your public holiday or it didn’t seem like a public holiday for you? What I want to share today is more like a reminder of this particular season.

On Sunday, my colleague invited me to her church called Gospel Pillars Church (In case you are in Benin, a program is coming up once I have full details I would make sure to share them here). I enjoyed every part of the service, especially the message, and testimonies, I shared a few tears after a testimony but I would be majoring on the message preached that day. The topic was “Developing the Habit and Discipline of Prayer (The Technicality of Praying like Jesus)”.

Although the message was about prayer, it also touched some vital things as Christians: Faith and Knowledge of the Word of God. I understood prayer more after the message and was more enlightened about praying with an understanding of the Scripture.

One of the things the Pastor mentioned about faith is that: The Bible is the primary market of Faith, Testimonies are the secondary market of Faith and Exploits are the tertiary market of Faith. Remember Faith cometh by hearing the Message, which is heard through Christ’s Word (Romans 10:17).

Most times, we pray without our armor which is the Word of God. As much as prayer is a communication, it is also a battle (spiritual warfare) Ephesians 6:10-12 and the qualification for that prayer is the Word of God. You may have watched a Mount Zion movie or a Christian movie where they are trying to cast out demons or free themselves or someone from bondage, you would notice that every word of prayer is a scripture from the Bible. Like thou shall not touch the anointed, or The Spirit of God lives within me and anything not of the Spirit of God leave now from this body.

“Study the Word that you begin to look like the Word for it is the dress code for battle” – Pastor Isaiah MacWealth.

Prayer is very important as a Christian, but when we do not pray from an understanding or in alignment with God’s word, it causes a hindrance in our prayer. When we study the Word of God, it is to gain an understanding and knowledge of the Word. If you understand the context of Psalm 23 and apply faith to the scripture, you would be at peace no matter what happens, because you know you have a shepherd to provide and protect you. Knowing what the Bible says is good, but we also must apply faith to it. We know it is said in the Word not to worry but we still worry about different things and even while we pray, there’s still worry and doubt in our hearts, which should not be so.

It is like having a gun for a war that requires a gun and instead of using that, you decide to use a machete because you do not believe the gun can help you or you refuse to learn how to use it. Having the Word of God and not using it.

“If you refuse to stay in the Word, they are battles you cannot fight and because you cannot fight the battle, you cannot enjoy the blessing or reward from the victory of that battle (Joshua 1:8)” –Pastor Isaac Macwealth.

The battle I am referring to here are different things, a battle to overcome certain sins like lust, stealing, and telling lies, or a battle to take back the joy that the devil took from you, or a battle for healing and restoration of all the good things that belongs to you. You use the Word of God for battles because when there’s an awareness of who you are and what you possess in Christ, something cannot go wrong in your life and you remain silent about it.

The Armor of God was also mentioned during the message from Ephesians 6:10-18 and the way he passed the message about the armor of God, I have never seen it that way before. Everything about the Whole Armor of God has relations with the Word of God. The Belt of Truth (which is the Word of God), Breastplate of Righteousness (The Word of God), Shield of Faith (Hearing the Word), Helmet of Salvation (The Word), Shoe ready to share the good news (the gospel which is the Word of God).

I would be ending this blog with this when next you want to pray, pray with an understanding and knowledge of the Word of God and let faith be applied as well.

Final Quote “The Key to answered prayer is Salvation and Meditation on the Word (John 15:7)” – Pastor Isaac Macwealth.

There was a confession I took after the Service. I live in abundance regardless of the scarcity around me for that is my reality (Psalm 23).

Happy New Month and Welcome to my Month. I already said I would be ending this but I want you all to be the first people to find out. I would be starting my YouTube Channel this month (Please subscribe when the link is out) and also I would be launching a Christian Clothing brand. The name would be revealed soon.  🎉🎉🎉
