HOW TO BUILD AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Hello, Welcome to my blog, It’s an honor that you would be reading this post. April is a special month because we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ which is the very beginning of our faith and what we stand for.

Through Christ we gain redemption and we are saved from sin and death. God sent His Son to die in order to bring us back to Him, and fellowship with Him, while we are on earth before we meet Him in Heaven.

Now that you have been saved, don’t stay just saved. Like I earlier mentioned God wants to fellowship with you that was the importance of the redemption (To build a genuine and intimate relationship with you), but how do you have this relationship with God;

1. By Spending Quality Time Dwelling on the Word (The Bible): The Bible has love letters, instructions, directions that God through His servants wrote to us in order to know Him for who He is and come into a better relationship with Him. The bible gives you understanding of who you are in Christ and How to become better in your relationship with God. Study this: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

2. By Spending Quality Time in Prayer: Have you ever heard of this song 🎶🎵 “I pray yet not I, I pray. There’s a praying Spirit within me ooo. I pray yet not I, I pray.” 🎶🎵 By spending quality time in prayer, you fellowship with God in the Spirit *especially when you pray in the Spirit*. In lay man words, Your spirit man is in fellowship with God and you receive revelation and direction when you pray. God’s plan is revealed to you and you end feeling at peace after prayer. Study this: Romans 8:26

3. By Being Intentional: Be intentional about building a relationship with God. Don’t read the bible or pray for the sake of it but do it with a mindset for growth.

4. By Dealing with your Mindset: Most times, we may have sinned and we feel like because of that we can’t fellowship with God. I want you to have the mindset that no matter the Sin, God still wants a beautiful relationship with you. Study this: Hebrews 9:15

5. By Journaling: Write to God, this is something that has helped me grow. Express yourself to him through writing. Be real to God as you do so.

6. By Humility and Genuineness: If you desire to build a genuine relationship with God be humble and be real to God. Don’t come to Him with pride but come because you actually want to spend time with Him. Study this: James 4:6;10

7. By Fellowship with other Believers: your fellowship with other believers keeps you accountable, you get this feeling that you are not alone in this journey and whenever you are feeling behind in your faith, you have got a community to help you out. When you need clarity for a scripture having a community or fellowship with other believers can help you out because you get to speak with someone from the community or fellowship to explain the scripture. You get like minded people that can help your growth with God, through the programs, conferences or prayer meeting that may hold. Study this: Hebrews 10:25

I just want you to get the message that after you have received the grace to be saved, it doesn’t end there because after this life, all we would be doing in Heaven is fellowship with the Father and you have got to start that here. The redemption plan was to have a fellowship and direct relationship with you just as He had with Adam before Sin came in and separated Adam from Him. Christ has paid the death and has bridge that gap and separation, don’t let His Death and Resurrection be in vain in your life.
