Embracing Your New Life In Christ

Birthday Photoshoot Picture💙

Annyeonghaseyo (Hello) Blog Bestie, I was so excited when I took the courage to write again to you. I have something wonderful to share today but first, how are you doing? How did the month of July treat you? The month is ending today and we will be entering the second month in the second half of the year, so how are you holding up?

This is my month and my birthday was on the 15th. I thought about sending this out on my birthday but I couldn’t create enough time to write for some reason. If you are wondering why I started with Annyeonghaseyo, I have been learning Korean for a while now on Duolingo and what better way to greet than to put my practice into action?😉

The month of July has been an amazing one for me, a friend of mine got the call that she has been called to Bar and this is one of my biggest testimonies for the month, of course, the gift of life and salvation is always number one.

I decided to do something this month called Topical Bible Study on Identity in Christ and I would love to share some of it with you as we progress in the remaining months of the year.

Identity in a believer’s life is what forms who we are and our faith, I would say faith and identity are quite connected, our faith in Jesus forms our identity as a new man in Christ and we claim our identity in Christ because of our faith in Christ Jesus😏.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, we are told that as a new man in Christ, we have been set free from the old man (nature), one filled with sin, the power of Satan to control lives,  old mindset to life.

But the enemy tries to lie to us and bring back the old man or remind us of our old nature but we must be reminded that we are now reconciled with God, and this barrier that was there is removed!

Your identity is not formed out of what you have done before or your works in Christ but in the finished works of Christ. So you are not saved by yourself, you are not redeemed by yourself or strength, you are not reconciled to God by your works nor are you a new man in Christ by your capacity.

I want you to remember who you are and who has called you to be who you are. Perhaps, you should stop trying to live this new life through your capacity and strength, but instead depend on the Holy Spirit in this new life.

Challenges may come, temptations may arise, and difficult moments may set in. Doing this new life with God, with the Holy Spirit, makes it easier and more reassuring because it sets us apart from the world. We are told in John 16:33, to be courageous because Christ has overcome the world and given us His Peace.

So my ending remark as the remaining months of the year go on is; Remember your identity in Christ, do not try to live this life by putting confidence in yourself but in the Holy Spirit, and always remember you are reconciled with God. Perhaps in our next blog post, I will talk more about us being called to reconcile with others.

In the meantime, there is a discipleship program going on called 100 Days of Discipleship with Pastor Emmanuel Iren. We are on day 63 but you can watch previous videos to catch up. If you are a new reader here, welcome to the family dear blog bestie and I hope you were blessed by today’s blog post. If you haven’t read my last blog post, you can find it here.
