How are you doing and How has the entire week been for you? What’s your present emotion when you clicked on the link? I’m sincerely asking about this and would be anticipating your response on the comment section.
Still on the topic of Love, last year during one of my morning devotions, a prayer point came to me “Lord, help me to love you in the way you want to be loved and not the way that I want to love you”.
This wasn’t the first time I was praying about this but I just want to share it today since it has been dropped in my heart.
I can’t remember the particular app I watched this video but I think it was Tik Tok and the lady said that morning, she sat down with her husband and asked him “Baby, how do you want me to love you?”.
If I remember clearly, she said everyone has their way of accepting love, everyone has a way they want to be loved by their family, friends, colleague, and neighbor.
The way she wants to be loved may not be the same way her husband would want to feel loved. When I prayed that prayer point, I remembered what the lady had said.
As believers, sometimes we choose to love God in the way we feel He would want to be loved. I love to love and I would honestly want to show love to my friends in the best way they want to be loved but I won’t know if I don’t ask.
Since we accepted Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, it shows that we have chosen to love God but you have to sit down with God and ask him ways you can show your love in action rather than just words. The definition of this love in action is not to do eye service before men but to actual focus on pleasing God, your Father.
1 John 3:18
“Little children, let’s not love with words or speech but with action and truth.”
I mentioned in an earlier post that if you love someone, you would want them to be happy and to an extent, you can do anything for them.
So if you are struggling to find out how you can show God you love Him, ask yourself; what would make Him (God) happy? Go back to your bible and see several stories that reflects how you can love God and make Him happy.
When you find out do your very best to show it to the fullest without minding anyone.
I just felt the need to share this and before I end this, I would be sharing right ways you can love God according to the bible.
- Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength by daily fellowshipping with God.
Mark 12:30-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
2. Love God with your Life. In your living let it be to please and glorify Him. Allow your life to be fully lived for Him.
2 Corinthians 5:15
And He died for all, that those who live should no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
3. You Love God by Loving His People
1 John 4:21
“This commandment we have from him: Those who claim to love God ought to love their brother and sister also.”
4. You love God by Loving Unbelievers through praying for them and sharing the Word of God to them.
Luke 6:35
“Instead, love your enemies, do good, and lend expecting nothing in return. If you do, you will have a great reward. You will be acting the way children of the Most High act, for he is kind to ungrateful and wicked people.”
5. You love God by total submission and Obedience.
2 John 1:6
This love means living in obedience to whatever God commands us. For to walk in love towards one another is the unifying commandment we’ve heard from the beginning.
They are several other ways to love God, the year is till very fresh, build that your relationship with God and ask Him what other ways you could show that you love Him.
