Hello blog bestie, how are you doing today? This week’s blog post came a little late, but the week won’t go by without making a post.
For the month of May, we have one more week to go before next month. My question to you now is how far have you grown from January till now, whether in your finances or personal walk with God or even your career which has been the focus of this month.
This week’s post is about Equipping Yourself in your Line of career. I made a post in March about how to grow in your career and if you haven’t read it, you probably should do so, this is the link
After I graduated I was thinking of how to keep myself busy and where I can equip myself while I am at home. I came across Jobberman, Side Hustle, Alison, and Grow with Path. I hope you are getting the gist of this week’s post.
Attending Conferences and networking is great but to equip yourself by getting more knowledge and certificate, the best opportunity would be to take online courses, especially if you are thinking of a transition.
If you have been wondering how you can get free courses, I will be sharing with you sites to get both free and paid courses.
- Google: It is the first place to get a free course online. At first, I was confused when someone told me I could get a free course, this was because all the courses I was seeing were paid ones. Some of the free courses also come with a certificate. Just go to Google and search for free online courses with a certificate.
- Udemy: You can use it on your browser, but if you prefer to have quick access you can download the app. It contains both free and paid courses and some courses require about 2 hours to complete it. The app would be preferable because you can keep better track of your growth through the number of courses you may have taken.
- SideHustle: On SideHustle I have about 3 certificates there already which are graphic design, digital marketing, and content creation. One thing I love about SideHustle is the classroom setting it gives, there’s assessment and you have a facilitator. It just seems more personal to me, there’s also a telegram group chat. Although to get your certificate you would need to pay for it.
- Alison: This is another website to get free courses and paid ones. Although those free courses you would not be able to get a certificate for it, if you need one then you have to pay for it. I did a course on Graphic Design and it was explanatory to me. So Alison can be a choice to equip yourself in your career.
- Great Learning: I found out about this recently from a friend, it is more about tech courses. If you want to transition into tech or your career falls into tech, you can take advantage of great learning. Another advantage is you get certified for free courses.
So next time you are wondering where to get free courses, try out the listed above. My lovely friend who has been writing with me for this month (our guest writer) celebrated her birthday on the 16th, please let’s celebrate her in the comment section.
Is there any topic you would want me to write about on career, just send me an email at journeywithomoye@gmail.com I love you but Christ loves you best. Don’t forget to share this and leave a comment below about today’s post.
Till I write again…
